Writing Sanctuary | Bonus Day

Responses to Beth Kempton’s prompts for KNOWING

I am in bed. The sky is slowly lightening. The birdsong is loud as spring. There is the promise of Autumn mist in the air.

~ DAILY SPARKS ~

Moment

Why is it,

Now that we have made our beds

Safe behind walls with doors and windows that we can lock tight at night

Now that we no longer overnight

In a cave

With one eye open

We still find it so hard

To sleep?

For the Children

I do not think nature cares

So much as we think

About what we do

The most delicate green shoots

Break concrete

We all of us end

Back in the earth,

one way or another

Responding to the invitation to write ‘Dear me . . .’

:

Be kind. Be kind. Be kind. That is the most important thing xxxxx

Today’s Person from Porlock : Birdsong

Sleepy dog sighing

. . .

It is peaceful. Smooth sheets. The leaves green against the soft blue sky. The day about to begin.
